New Stuff

I am out from under the covers for a few minutes to watch the Survivor premier. Thank goodness for the return of my fall favorites. They give me a good excuse to sit still for a few minutes and stamp. Here is a card I made with some of the new Holiday Mini stuff. I used the new Santa Post set, Frosty Designer Paper & Ribbon Originals.
The new felt ribbon is so super soft, I love it. I know this card is not the typical holiday colors, however I have to admit I am not a big fan of red and green together. I do use them at times, but generally in off tones. I know there are many Frosty critics out there, but I am not one of them, I love it. OK, back to bed so I can get my stamping strength back- BTW- Thanks for all your kind words and well wishes.

More Sneak Peeks

Here are three cards I came up with yesterday for my World Card Making Day Event. Again- I reserve the right to change the projects before the event. I have a sore throat, so I may or may not get anything done today. Check back tomorrow in case I do get out of bed.

Here is a simple card that utilizes the new pattern papers and the Flower Fusion Too flowers.
This card uses Old Olive, Summer Sun and Close to Cocoa for a fall look. The center piece was cut out with the Top Notch Die in the Big Shot. This Halloween Card is one with a surprise inside the recipient is sure to love.

World Card Making Day Sneak Peeks

I decided that rather than post my samples, after the big World Card Making Day Event, in one big post, I will post them as I design. This year for World Card Make Day we will be making at least 12 cards for $35. Plus you get a $10 coupon to put towards a purchase that day- Oct 4th from 10-4. There will also be product demonstrations, door prizes etc. I still have space so email me to sign up soon.

I warn, that as I design sometimes projects get bumped. So here is the first sneak peek. Can you believe how scattered my mind must be to create such different cards one right after the next. Welcome to my head :)

This Birthday Card was inspired by my friend asking for a workshop of just simple kids cards. Hmmm, I hope this is simple enough. The colors are from the Bold Brights Family, the stamps are from Crazy for Cupcakes- plus the matching wheel, the brads are Green Galore and the doodling is done with the Basic Black Marker.
This next card is done with Baja Breeze & Chocolate Chip. The stamp sets used are Priceless, Say it with Scallops & Blooming with Happiness. The scallops are punched out with the coordinating Scallop Square Punch. The ribbon is the Baja Breeze Striped Ribbon. Super simple!!

Chipboard Mirror

Here is a quick project that I put together last night for my youngest daughter. She LOVES pink and this will go perfectly in her room. I used the On Board Batch of Blooms Chipboard pieces and covered the flowers with Sweet Always Designer paper and the leaves covered with Bella Rose paper. The flower and "dream" are rub-ons from the Eastern Elegance rub-on set. All the pieces were secured together with Tombow Multi glue. The mirror was a standard mirror I picked up at the craft store, it fit inside the big flower perfectly.

September Stamp Club Projects

Here are the three projects we are doing for club tonight. The first is a Christmas card using Snow Swirled. This set has grown on me. It's on sale until Sept 30th, so I wanted to use it before it went off sale. This card uses Baja Breeze, Whisper White and Brushed Gold Cardstock. The Background is the Faux Silk Technique. The tree is embossed with Gold embossing powder- again mixed with Dazzling Diamonds (can you tell I like this combo). The ribbon is white taffeta.
This second card is done with the Bella Rose Designer paper, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White & Kiwi Kiss cardstocks. The words are inked in Kiwi Kiss and then the "Love" is colored over the kiwi ink with Real Red marker. The ribbon is the Riding Hood Red striped ribbon. The flower is done with half scallops that have the ends glued together, then the petals are adhered in a circle using a Pop-Up Glue Dot to secure. The center of the flower is a Build a Brad, though I snipped off the tines of the brad and secured with a Glue Dot.The last project we did is a treat package designed for Halloween. These are all the rage on-line these days, so I thought I would throw my hat in the ring here. The tag is simple, stamp the Batty For You image in black and them punch out the center. Stamp it again on Old Olive, punch it out and layer the pieces together. The hanger is the done with the Word Window Punch out folded in half and secured on both sides of the scallop. The witches broom is done with two brown paper lunch bags. The first bag is cut into narrow slits all the way around to the base rectangle area. I then layered an un-cut bag into the center of the slit bag. I gathered up the ends and trimmed them a bit. (You can leave it, but the "stick" part I used was too short, so I trimmed). Then, add slits to the inside bag about 1-2" from the top all the ways around. Gather the slits together and wind some Black Hemp around the bag top while securing a Pretzel rod into the center. Tie on your tag and finish winding and tie off the hemp. Super easy project. Probably a good one for kids who are able to use scissors safely (not mine yet).

Back to Stamping!!

Well my daughter's 5th Birthday party is over and I am now feeling the bug to create again. I have included here a quick Christmas card that I did last night plus a few pictures from my daughters party- I used quite a few SU things throughout the party. The card uses the Riding Hood Red, Old Olive and Whisper White Cardstocks plus the Holiday Treasures Designer Paper. The set used is the Snow Swirled set (which is on sale until Sept 30th). The tree is embossed. To get it to glitter, I mixed Gold Embossing Powder with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and used it just as you would normal embossing powder. The ribbon is the new Riding Hood Red Taffeta. The tree is topped with a Fire Square Rhinestone Brad. Super simple card!!

Here are a few pictures from the party. Notice the Pennants, Gift Bag Tags, Lollipop Tree, and Vendor box- All made with the Big Shot or other SU products.

I'll be back with more to share tomorrow.

Open House Samples

Here are the two cards we did at my open house yesterday. The pink one is a complete copy from a sample off of the convention boards, but the blue one is mine. Upsy Daisy is the set used in this card. It's on sale until Sept 30th for just $16.11. I LOVE this set. The three colors used here are Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red & Tangerine Tango. Ink up the flower stamp in pink, then use sponge daubers to add the red and orange to the stamp before you stamp it. The button is from the the new Button Bouquet, I used mine up side down because I liked the shiny party better than the front for this card.

This card used the new Urban Garden Designer paper which is punched with the Scallop Edge Punch. The "Love" image is stamped in Night of Navy and then colored with Kiwi Kiss & Baja Breeze inks and a Blender Pen. The ribbon is the striped Kiwi Kiss. The chipboard was left raw and applied with Tombow Multi glue. The butterfly is from the same set (Dreams du Jour) and is stamped with Whisper White Craft ink.
