Lollipop Tree

I have been having fun planning my daughter's 5th Birthday Party. We are having a carnival in the backyard. Hence my lack of stamp samples lately. Anyway, here is one of the activities for the kids. It uses retired SU designer paper (I didn't want to use the new stuff without knowing if my plan was going to work), a foam form and a whole bottle of Multi Glue. Before applying the strips I punched 1/8" holes along each strip so that the lollipops would go in easily. Here is a picture before the lollipops are inserted and a picture after. It was a fun, but sticky project to do.

August Stamp Club Projects

Here are the projects we did during stamp club last night. We used a mix of new products and stamps from my top 5 favorite new sets list. This first card uses Upsy Daisy (new and on sale until Sept 30th) with Pale Plum, Baja Breeze, Whisper White & Chocolate Chip Cardstock and inks. The distressing was done with the Cutter kit, and Scallops were done with the new Scallop Edge Punch. This card is done with the new Crazy for Cupcakes set. The colors used are Real Red, Pink Pirouette, & Whisper White. We stamped the cupcakes in Basic Brown and colored with Real Red, Close to Cocoa, Going Grey Markers and a Blender Pen & Pink Pirouette Classic Pad. Once colored we brayer Versamark over the entire stamped piece, sprinkled Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder on and heated it. The designer paper is from the new Parisian Plaza Designer Paper and the ribbon is the new Pink Pirouette Striped ribbon. The last project we did was a pizza type box (copied from SCS). We stamped 4 mini cards to put inside. All projects use the new Windsor Knot Designer paper. The Ovals and Circles are the new 1 3/4" Circle Punch and new Jumbo Oval Punch. Ribbons include the new Old Olive, Sage Shadow & Chocolate Chip Grosgrains. The Ric Rac on the box was done with the Scallop Edge Punch. The stamp set we used was Pocket Silhouettes (on sale until Sept 30th)If you are in the area and interested in joining my stamp clubs, I am always taking names. When 6 people are ready to start we start and meet every other month and rotate hostess benefits.

I'm Back with a Tiny Bit to Share

I am back from my travels and ready to start stamping again. My BIG boxes of new stuff should be arriving today. I can't wait to get my hands on all the new accessories! While I was away camping, I took a limited amount of supplies with me. Here is what I did while I was away.

First I did 3 mini cards sized at 3"x3". I used some of the new rub-ons from the new catalog and the Pink Pirouette Textured Cardstock along with the Whisper White and Chocolate Chip cardstocks.

Sticking with the same color scheme but adding some Kiwi Kiss I made this full card. Again I used the rub-ons, but also used the Heard from the Heart stamp set and 1/4" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon. I am SO happy this ribbon has been added back into the catalog. The second day I stamped I made a few butterfly cards with the New Flight of a Butterfly stamp set. I love this set, but am going to need to play some more. These turned out OK, but I have bigger dreams for this set. In the blue card it's hard to tell in the picture, but the butterfly with the trail is popped up.
That's all I had time to do. I hope to get busy and do some stamping the next few days. (Assuming I get my craft room cleaned up). I may not get to post them until after Friday's stamp club and Sunday's downline BBQ. However, check back. I am motivated to create.

Big Shot Announcement

Today Stampin' Up! announced a partnership with the company that makes Sizzix. Stampin' Up! will soon be offering the Big Shot. For those not familiar, the Big Shot is a manual diecut machine. It has the ability to diecut over 50 materials. It is compatible with all other companies dies and embossing folders etc. SU will be offering exclusive as well as non-exclusive dies starting Sept 2nd. They showed lots of really cute projects. I am too tired to post a lot of pictures tonight, but here is one using a SU exclusive die to make the pennants. I will post more pictures later.
