Here is a picture of the screen when I went on stage to be recognized for my 100K Sales Milestone Award. I hate being on stage, but for some reason felt the need to go up there since it was my goal this year. I practically ran off of stage, so I didn't give the gals enough time to get a better picture. That's OK.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

In a few short hours I will be headed to Salt Lake City for the annual Stampin' Up! Convention. I ran out of time to make swaps, but did get these boxes put together. They are floss boxes (the kind you get at the craft store for $2 and store embroidery floss or beads in) with each compartment filled with different goodies. Plus I added a mini highlighter and page markers to assist with catalog viewing and marking. I added a simple topper to the box stamped in the new In Colors with the Big Deal Alphabet and new Wow Flowers set. I made them for my downline and some friends whom are also attending. I saw this idea awhile back at a demo only event and thought it was cute.

Convention Brainstorming

Enough of the text posts. I hate that, though it is an necessary evil when these big announcements come out. I'd much rather just have pictures :) Well, I have been playing around trying to come up with some swaps for convention. I always overdo it and am trying to keep it simple this year. However, I can't say I love anything I am coming up with. I am headed out of town for the weekend, maybe a shooting star will hit me and bring me something fantastic but simple. If not, well I will probably not make any swaps other than for things I have committed to. Here are the three cards I came up with while playing. All three use the new In Colors and 2 out of 3 use the new Bella Rose Paper. This card uses the Pink Pirouette & Kiwi Kiss Cardstocks along with Bella Rose Designer Paper. The set is the new Dream Du Jour. The scallop is done with the new Scallop Edge Punch. The In Colors used here are Red Riding Hood, Kiwi Kiss, Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango. I used the Scallop Edge , Scallop Circle, Small Oval, 1 1/4" Circle, and 1 3/8" Circle Punches, plus the Crop-a-Dile. The Thank You is popped up on a Dimentional. This is my card for a Christmas Swap I am in. I tried to mimic a present. I used the Baja Breeze Cardstock and Bella Rose Designer Paper. For the tag- the stamps are from Punch Pals all of which are punched using the Scallop Circle, 1 3/8" Circle & 3/4" Circle Punches and then layered together. The ribbon is the 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon.

July Stamp Club Projects

Here are the projects for my July Stamp Club. I am definitely starting to see a shift in colors I use. I didn't used to be such a "Pumpkin Pie" person.

This is a simple card. The "Enjoy" and "Every Moment" images are from the Enjoy Every Moment set that is retiring. They are embossed to stand out. The designer paper is the Rose Red Prints Paper. The flower is a Felt Fusion flower with a Pumpkin Pie button in the center. The ribbon is 5/8" wide Old Olive Grosgrain ribbon. The flower and button were secured using Tombow Multi Glue- fabulous stuff!!

This celebrate card is done using the colors from the Spring Break paper. I believe it is likely to retire because it contains some In Colors. The star is a chipboard star, covered with Soft Sky Textured Cardstock. The white star is a rub-on. Once rubbed on, I used the star punch to punch it out. The tag is stamped in Blue Bayou and punched out with the large oval punch, then glued to the back of the frame from the retiring Hodgepodge Hardware (One Sale for only $20.86 a box). The ribbon is the Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Ribbon- retiring. Not my normal colors, but I like the way this turned out.
This is a simple Hershey Bar cover for a snack size bar. I used the retiring Cutie Pie paper to create a pocket. I crimped one end to really secure it shut. I punched a half circle for ease in pulling the candy out. The belly band is crimped Purely Pomegranate & Bashful Blue strips of cardstock. The "Enjoy" image is from the retiring Be Happy set. Here is a picture of it with the bar slightly pulled out.

Next club meeting is in August, check my SU site for the date. Non-club members are welcome with advance notice. A $15 supply fee is collected, or it's FREE with a $25 SU order.

Stamp Club Starting

My new stamp club is starting this Friday. I usually give club members a custom stamped tote to bring their adhesive, scissors and pen in. Several of the members are repeat club members or belong to both of my clubs, so they already have totes. So last night I threw these together. They are swap boxes. I used empty Hodgepodge Hardware tins and coordinating designer paper. I stamped their names with the Big Deal Alphabet and embellished with the Scallop Punch and New Scallop Edge punch. Nothing too fancy. They can add to it if they want. My hope is that they will bring their swaps in the boxes, so I know who's is who's and can get the swapping done more efficiently. We'll see. I hope they like them.

New Stuff

I have had this huge box staring at me from the corner of my office for over a week. I would not let myself play with anything inside until stamp camp was over. I got my first chance to play today. Here is a card I am preparing for a shoebox swap at convention I am in.

The paper is the new Bella Rose Designer Paper. I paired it with Red Riding Hood, Kiwi Kiss and Pink Pirouette (yes new colors). The stamp set used is the new Dreams du Jour set. In addition I used the new scallop edge punch, gold brads, blender pen, scallop punch and dimentionals.
The ric rac is done with the new scallop edge punch. The scallop around the image is actually two scallop circles layered on the back to give it the appearance of an oval. I colored the image (stamped in Red Riding Hood) with the blender pen using ink from the Kiwi Kiss & Pink Pirouette Classic ink pads.

Here is a peek at a sampling of items in my box:
New 2008-09 In Colors: Pink Pirouette, Red Riding Hood, Tangerine Tango, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze & Pacific Point.
New Bella Rose Designer Papers & Scallop Edge Punch.

I will post more sneak peeks as I get to play some more. If you would like to pre-order any of these items please let me know. I am not able to order until August 11th, however you won't want to wait. These are great colors and accessories. (I assume SU has planned for a huge order of scallop punches, however you never know what will go on backorder when it first becomes available- hint hint). Contact me for more details.

July Stamp Camp- Last Few Samples

Here you go. The last few samples from last Sunday's stamp camp. We had a great time. I hope you will join us for the next one. Date TBD for this fall.

This is a Sympathy card designed with the Close as a Memory set. This is a must have set. I never know what to write in sympathy cards and this set has some great verses. The flowers are done by coloring the stamp directly with the Watercolor Crayons, Spritzed with water, and then stamped. We used the Blender Pen to add the orange centers to the flowers. This is a cute treat box designed to fit the Ghiradelli Chocolate Squares. The box is made and then a topper and matching bottom piece added to add some interest. The belly band is Certainly Celery Grosgrain Ribbon with a White Scallop attached. I layered the stamped & punched center circles onto the scallop and then used scissors to snip the scallops to create the daisy look. The petals are bent up for texture. Sorry the sample is in such bad shape, my preschoolers thought it was very cool.
Here is a card that I cased off of SCS. I wanted to do a Resist Brayer card and this one fit the bill. We stamped the large flowers with Black Stazon and the small flowers with Versamark. Then we brayered over the top with Pretty in Pink ink. We completed the small flowers by using a pencil eraser to put the dots in the center. The larger flower centers were sponged with Regal Rose ink on a Sponge Dauber. The outside petals are highlighted with Gel Pen.
Oh no, my Blossoms Abound set is retiring. Here is it's farewell presentation. The background behind the flowers is the EnFrancais set inked in Close to Cocoa, but stamped off before it was stamped on the card. Then we stamped the flowers over the top. The edges are distressed with the Cutter Kit, and then sponged with Close to Cocoa ink. The Friend is torn out of a piece of scrap paper, sponged and added with the retiring Hodgepodge Hardware clip. The background is Tres Chic stamped in Brocade Blue and sponged with Close to Cocoa.
That's it for camp stuff. Next..... to play with all the NEW stuff in the big box by the front door. Stay tuned, I have my new In Colors, Stamps, Papers, & Scallop Punch. Yippee

July Stamp Camp- Samples #2

Decor Element Project- I wanted to include the new Decor Elements Line in the stamp camp. I couldn't very well have everyone apply one to their walls- that would be impractical and cost prohibitive without a camp fee increase. So, I ordered everyone the Monogram that coordinated with their last name. Then they got to make these Chipboard Clipboards. Depending on the size of their letters, they could choose to make a vertical or horizontal clipboard. Then everyone had the supplies to embellish with stars or flowers randomly included in their binders. Here are the two samples I provided for them. The chipboard is the Book Basics size small from the SU catalog and the clips are binder clips that have been covered and embellished.
This is one of my personal favorite cards. Not colors I normally use, but are growing on me. The heart is from the Sticky Letters and has Green Bead Duos on it. I sprinkled the heart with the larger beads and then added the matching micro beads to fill it in. The flower on the heart is a Felt Fusion Flower with a Brilliant Blue Brad in it.
Andrea Walford posted a tutorial for glittering glue dots. I remembered this technique from years ago and was glad to be reminded of it. I thought her card layout was cute so I cased that, but the colors and images are different. Colors used are Almost Amethyst, Ballet Blue, and Lavender Lace. The bird is watercolored with Aquapainters & Watercolor Crayons. The flower has a Barely Banana Brad in it.
I received a picture of one of these bag boxes on one of the Yahoo groups I belong to. They were so cute I had to make one immediately! This is my take on it. We used some Ribbon Originals, Porcelain Prints Paper, River Rock Double Stitch Ribbon and LOTS of Pretties Kit items. I really like how it turned out.
Check back tomorrow for the last 4 stamp camp samples. Thanks for stopping by and be sure to send me your questions if you have any.

July Stamp Camp Samples

It's been awhile. I have been super busy prepping for stamp camp. My stamp camps are all day events where the guests make 12 projects. It's quite a full and fun day. Here are the first few projects we made this month.

This is a card that I cased off of SCS by DJLuvs2stamp. I loved the colors. Artfully Asian is one of my favorite stamp sets and I am sad it is retiring.
Another set that is retiring is Eat Cake. I think this is a great birthday set. I will miss it as well. This card is very simple. It is 4"x4". When opened this card "sings" the Happy Birthday song. I found the musical greeting card devices online. Here is a photo of the inside of the card with the device exposed. The full card is actually a trifold so that the device is covered up.
This is the cutest little pattern I have seen in awhile. I found it on several blogs I peruse, so I don't know who the original creator is, but whoever did it was very creative. The cellophane is actually a clear envelope folded in half. I used the Coluzzle to cut both the ovals, layered them together and folded in half. I punched holes in the top and tied knots in the ribbon to create the purse handle. I created a faux latch with the photo holder from the retiring Hodgepodge Hardware, it's pictured sideways, but actually hangs down. Here is a super simple project using the Scallop Notes that SU sells. The come in a pack of 30, with 10 of each Very Vanilla, Soft Sky & Kraft. Each guest made 4 gift cards, and envelopes and placed them in the wheeled bag that is tied shut with Celery Ribbon. Just Like You is the set used in this project. For every one of these sets sold, SU donates $2 to the Ronald McDonald house. It's limited edition and therefore retiring this month. It's a cute set and very easy to use.
Check back tomorrow for more samples.

Decor Element Sample

I have been busy prepping for stamp camp, but took a quick breather to put up one of the Decor Elements Items I bought to try out. Here are two pictures of it. I placed it above my desk. They go up fairly easily and very quickly. I have some experience with vinyl so I knew what to expect. I look forward to sharing other creations in the future. Back to prepping. Happy 4th of July!!
