Wall Hanging

One of my goals this year was to start creating things for me. I have limited crafting time with three pre-schoolers, so nearly all my time is spent on my business. However, I am proud to say that yesterday I made this for me... All the items used are SU, but the Simply Scrappin' Kit I used is the retired Friends and Flowers kit. I love this kit and this is the first time I have opened it.

I finally received all the kids school pictures from their respective classes. I have wanted to add some updated pictures of the kids in my craft room, so this is what I did. I used the Small On Board Basics Chipboard and covered three pieces with the different background papers included in the kit. I added the photos and them embellished with the different elements in the kit. I pieced the three pieces together with Jumbo Eyelets and Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon.

On the little journaling pieces I put some fun facts about what each one of them like and are doing right now. I like how it turned out and it gives me a good snapshot of them today.

June Stamp Club Project

June Club met last Friday. We made the lollipop flower pots that I posted in May. Plus these two cards.

This first card is a "simple" card. I used the Define your life set to stamp the definition of simple on the card. The half pearl from the Pretties Kit was died using Crystal Effects and die based re-inker. The flower is held on the Almost Amethyst DSP with Tombow's Multi Glue. It seeped through the flower, so I added Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to cover the glue up. The white ribbon is White Taffeta. The cardstocks used are Shimmery White, Lovely Lilac and Apricot Appeal.

This card was inspired by my friend Nicole. She did this same basic card in a 4x4 size. The colors used are Bordering Blue, Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip, and So Saffron. The stamp set used is Blooming with Love. This is one of my favorites. The center pot was stamped on a separate piece of cardstock a second time, watercolored, cut out and then layered onto the same pot on the full image. It was layered on with a Dimentional. We tied a tiny bow with Linen Thread and added to the front of the pot. Love this card. Thanks for the inspiration Nicole!!

At our club meetings we do swaps. Here is what I did for mine. I found these little tins in the Michaels $1 bins. Plus I had a 25% whole purchase coupon. The flowers are made with the Felt Fusion, and Diecut Blooms. The center is a dyed half pearl on stamped and punched flower from the One of a Kind Stamp set. Then I faux stitched the flowers. On the can, I added some Felt Fusion Flowers with small beads glued to the centers. Opps- Forgot to mention that the watering can is full of Jelly Bellies.

The Big BBQ Party is Over

Things have been crazy this past week. I hosted a Downline meeting, Stamp Club Meeting and a BBQ for over 50 people during 3 consecutive days. I am beat. Anyway, these events are the reason I haven't been posting. Hopefully I can get back to my office and get some crafting done. Here is a picture of the cupcake toppers we made for my dad's 60th birthday BBQ. We kept it simple, but they turned out cute when displayed all together.
